The Molding Technician diagnoses and resolves processing-related problems on molding cells, determining and implementing corrective actions and evaluating their effectiveness. This role ensures the best compliance at all times for all molding processes to their established standards across the factory, focusing on cycle time, quality, safety for employees and machines, and sustainability. The technician monitors machine/process operations and documentation to maintain quality standards, follows data and process documentation, and utilizes analytical and Scientific Injection Molding troubleshooting techniques for continuous improvement. They provide continuous floor support by working with support departments such as maintenance, tool room, and automation, and communicate planned and unplanned activities in conjunction with the process manager and department production monitoring system (Factbird). The technician can perform lower-level sampling as needed by the process engineer, works with the Supervisor to close NCRs or Process Audits, and communicates with prior and oncoming shift personnel regarding daily issues. They investigate scrap reduction techniques within their work cell and improve part capture. In collaboration with the Shift Leader and Continuous Improvement & Process Manager, they brainstorm continuous improvement ideas to maximize productivity and efficiencies. The role supports and maintains all company policies, including ISO/BRC Standards, Health and Safety Requirements, Continuous Improvement, and standard work procedures.
