A mold machine set-up technician is responsible for the set-up, operation, and adjustment of molding machines and auxiliary equipment. This role involves carrying out and assigning tasks based on department priorities and schedules. The technician will be responsible for machine operation, including setting up molding machines and auxiliary equipment, operating and purging machines per setup instructions, and troubleshooting and adjusting the process as necessary. They will also ensure part quality by understanding workmanship standards, reading blueprints, using all measuring equipment, visually inspecting parts using magnification, maintaining data collection files, and understanding all packaging requirements. Additional responsibilities include inputting labor for data collection, maintaining lot control, using safety equipment, practicing good housekeeping, maintaining a good teamwork attitude, troubleshooting mechanical and process problems, maintaining plastic levels in machines, purging machines, providing guidance to operators, assisting in material handling, performing basic PC and record keeping, maintaining and organizing the plastics warehouse, and assisting in inventory duties.
