About The Position

The Molding Set Up Technician in the NJ plant is responsible for preparing, setting up, and optimizing injection molding machines for production runs, ensuring molds are properly installed, aligned, and operating according to process specifications. This person will troubleshoot molding equipment, perform minor repairs, make process adjustments, and inspect first-piece parts using precision measuring tools (calipers, micrometers, gauges). This role requires strong mechanical aptitude, adherence to 5S standards, and the ability to safely handle, install, and remove molds. The Molding Set Up Technician will collaborate with operators, maintenance, and quality teams while demonstrating ENNOVI’s values of accountability, teamwork, and integrity.

Requirements

• High School Diploma required.
• Extensive injection molding or molding setup experience required.
• Knowledge of injection molding processes, tooling, safety procedures, and quality control practices.
• Ability to troubleshoot molding machines, molds, and process-related issues.
• Strong mechanical aptitude and problem-solving skills.
• Strong communication and teamwork skills.
• Proficiency in using measuring tools and inspection equipment, including calipers, micrometers, and gauges.
• Physical ability to perform the required tasks, including lifting and moving molds, tooling, and other heavy objects.

Nice To Haves

• Experience with mold changeovers, machine setup, and process optimization preferred.

Responsibilities

• Install, remove, and align molds, ensuring injection molding machines are set up according to work instructions and production requirements.
• Perform machine start-ups, process adjustments, and troubleshooting to achieve optimal cycle times and product quality.
• Collaborate with operators and other technicians to start machines, monitor operations, and record production data.
• Identify and resolve issues related to molds, machinery, auxiliary equipment, materials, or molding processes.
• Perform first-piece and in-process inspections to ensure molded parts meet quality standards and address defects or process deviations.
• Conduct mold and machine changeovers while following established setup procedures and safety requirements.
• Follow all safety procedures related to operating injection molding equipment and handling molds.
• Maintain a clean, organized work area in accordance with 5S principles.
• Collaborate with maintenance personnel, quality technicians, and production staff to support efficient manufacturing operations.
