The candidate will be responsible for installing and removing injection molds, including all associated plumbing and electrical connections. The candidate is also responsible to ensure all tools and equipment are kept clean and in good repair. The Molding Set-up Technician reports directly to the Cleanroom Molding Value Stream Leader, with a 'dotted-line' responsibility to the Clean Room Molding Engineering team. The Value Stream Leader will provide the scheduling priorities for the Set-up Tech. Engineering samples or prototype runs will be scheduled in conjunction with the Molding Tooling and Process Engineering team.

Requirements

  • High school diploma or equivalent (Required)
  • General understanding of automation systems and equipment
  • The ability to be certified on a forklift and stay forklift certified.
  • Strong written/verbal communication and interpersonal skills
  • Understanding of ISO and FDA/GMP regulations with regard to production processes and documentation practices
  • The ability to read and comprehend procedures written in English (Required)
  • The ability to complete paperwork accurately in English (Required)
  • The ability to stand or sit for long periods of time (Required)
  • The ability to do repetitive work, requiring good dexterity and hand/eye coordination (Required).
  • The ability to lift up to 50 lbs. (Required)

Nice To Haves

  • Preferred 3-5 years of experience in injection molding industry
  • Basic tools are provided. Welcome to bring personal tools if desired.

Responsibilities

  • Install and remove molds from molding machines as specified
  • Set up of auxiliary equipment such as water circulators, hot runner controllers, valve gate controllers, end of arm tooling, etc.
  • Set up initial mold parameters per established mold parameters
  • Ensure all molds are properly prepared for next run and stored when not in use
  • Communicate in an effective and timely manner any tooling issues to Production/Engineering
  • General maintenance including Inline mold cleanings, regreasing, part containment.
  • Maintain and develop 5S standards for the Clean Room Molding Technicians
  • Work closely with quality group to understand acceptable parts per drawings and product specifications
  • Work with Processing Engineers in continuous improvement of current molding processes
  • Provide coverage across all shifts in technician’s absence
  • Perform functions as material handler as required
