About The Position

The Molding Shift Processor will oversee daily production schedules, maintain production cycle, and oversee temperatures and timing per scientific molding processes. This role is also responsible for ensuring the efficiency of the process and meeting quality specifications set forth by customer requirements. The position promotes and maintains an atmosphere of cooperation among and between shifts, tool room, quality control, and management to facilitate production goals. The Molding Process Technician works with the Department Manager, operators, and production scheduler to assign jobs and meet production demand, trains and assists machine operators, and establishes proper molding conditions including safety requirements. This role eliminates the production of defective parts and products, ensures appropriate production rates to reduce delivery delays, and performs other related duties as assigned. The technician also coordinates with maintenance or tooling to repair equipment issues.

Requirements

  • High school diploma or equivalent preferred.
  • At least three years of relevant experience preferred.
  • Ability to interpret and translate engineering designs and documentation.
  • Ability to help the production team achieve required production target.
  • Optimum utilization of resources.
  • Understanding of quality product requirements.
  • Computer skills.
  • Basic mathematics.
  • Conduct tests and inspections of products.
  • Troubleshoots throughout the molding process to ensure maximum machine utilization.
  • Strong work ethic, self-motivation, and the ability to follow through on all tasks.
  • Work within a team environment and demonstrate professional behavior.
  • Reliable, responsible, and dependable, and fulfilling obligations.
  • Extensive knowledge of manufacturing requirements and planning.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills.
  • Injection molding machine setup and operation knowledge with Nissei, Cincinnati Milacron, and Arburg.
  • PLC knowledge with Allen-Bradley and Arburg.
  • Mold startup and shutdown procedures.
  • Scientific molding principles such as Routsis and RJG Master Molder.
  • Setting and adjusting processing parameters such as: Temperature, Pressure, Injection speed, Hold pressure, Cooling time.
  • Understanding of mold design and functionality.
  • Resin Knowledge such as: Nylon, Radel, PPS, ABS.

Responsibilities
