About The Position

Repairs and maintains machinery and equipment such as motors, conveyor systems, and injection molding machines and equipment. Requirements

  • Ability to read and interpret documents such as safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions, and procedure manuals.
  • Ability to write routine reports and correspondence and effectively present information in one-on-one and small group situations to other employees of the organization.
  • Ability to add, subtract, multiply, and divide in all units of measure, using whole numbers, common fractions, and decimals.
  • Ability to compute rate, ratio and percentage.
  • Ability to apply commonsense understanding to carry out instructions furnished in written, oral, or diagram form.
  • Ability to handle problems involving several concrete variables in standardized situations.
  • Regularly required to stand, walk, talk and hear.
  • Frequently required to use hands to finger, handle, or feel; reach with hands and arms; climb or balance; and sit, bend, stoop, twist, kneel, squat, or crawl.
  • Must regularly lift and/or move up to 25 pounds, frequently lift and/or move up to 58 pounds, and occasionally lift and/or move up to 100 pounds.
  • Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision, distance vision, color vision, peripheral vision, depth perception, and ability to adjust focus.
  • Regularly works near moving mechanical parts.
  • Regularly exposed to risk of electrical shock.
  • Frequently exposed to vibration.
  • Occasionally works in high, precarious places.
  • Occasionally exposed to fumes or airborne particles.
  • The noise level in the work environment is usually loud.
  • Prior injection molding experience required.

Responsibilities

  • Observes equipment in operation and evaluates potential problems for future repairs.
  • Dismantles equipment to gain access to and remove defective parts.
  • Adjusts function parts of equipment and control instruments.
  • Repairs or replaces defective parts.
  • Installs special functional and structural parts in equipment.
  • Lubricates and cleans parts.
  • Starts equipment to test their performance.
  • Set up and operate lathe, drill press, grinder, and other metalworking tools to repair or make spare parts.
  • Repairs electrical equipment.
  • Dismantle hydraulic cylinders valves and components and rebuild by replacing worn parts.
  • Locate and repair hydraulic leaks.
  • Replace motors, repair and troubleshoot motor controls.
  • Trouble-shoot and repair electric motors.
  • Replace conveyor belts by removing and disassembling conveyors.
  • Develop cost savings ideas.
  • Install and set up molding machinery.
  • Must be able to work mandatory overtime.
