About The Position

As an Assistant Group Leader, you will be responsible for guiding employees to maintain a safe, positive working environment while meeting production needs. This role involves promoting safety, ensuring quality standards, managing labor, and providing leadership on the production floor. You will also be trained to handle personnel issues, emergency situations, and coordinate with support departments to minimize downtime and drive improvement initiatives.

  • Must be able to lift 35 pounds regularly

  • Must be able to differentiate color

  • Knowledge of mold components helpful
  • Injection molding experience helpful

Responsibilities

  • Promote and ensure a SAFE working environment, including reporting on leading indicators and leading pre-shift Safety talks.
  • Ensure the company’s Quality Vision Statement is understood and adhered to.
  • Accomplish departmental goals set by Director of Molding Operations and Supervisors.
  • Ensure housekeeping standards are being met and/or being exceeded.
  • Update, monitor, and record daily staffing and job assignments.
  • Manage and control labor and allocate labor resources accordingly.
  • Spend the majority of your time on the floor (be visible and available).
  • Maintain a positive professional working relationship with all employees including all support departments.
  • Lead, inspire, encourage, and empower.
  • Work with the Shift Supervisor to manage daily labor needs.
  • Work with the Shift Supervisor to develop staffing schedules that meet production needs.
  • Trained to deal with personnel issues ensuring company policies are followed.
  • Complete Front-Line leadership training.
  • Trained to handle emergency situations (Fire, Inclement Weather, Accidents, and Etc.).
  • In the absence of the Shift Supervisor be the emergency point of contact.
  • Coordinate with support groups to minimize downtime and idle time.
  • Work with the Process Tech team to implement MEEF and EFF improvement opportunities.
  • Work with QA to oversee that any defects are identified and corrected.
  • Work with Process Techs on completion of all pms.
  • Work with Process Techs on WebEff reporting, ensure coding and comments are correct.
  • Navigate and extract information from JDE and CPRO.
  • Update and give shift turnover meetings.
  • Fill in for Shift Supervisor when needed.
