About The Position

Howmet Dover Casting is a world-class supplier of complex, investment-cast turbine airfoils and other components for the aircraft engine and industrial gas turbine industries. Howmet Dover Alloy is a world-class supplier of vacuum and air-melted nickel- and cobalt-based superalloys to aerospace, gas turbine, medical and other high-technology industrial markets. Howmet Aerospace is currently looking a Process Team Member to join our Dover Alloy group in Dover, New Jersey. The work hours for this Weekend Night position are 12.5 hour shifts starting on Friday 6 PM, Saturday 6 PM, Sunday 6 PM. New Hire Starting Hourly Rate: $21.58, After 12 Months: $23.92.

Requirements

• Must learn the operation of the assigned department as part of training.
• Results oriented, able to take initiative and demonstrate strong leadership skills.
• Must have strong verbal and written communication skills.
• Ability to work flexible hours from time to time with little advance notice.

Responsibilities

• Oversees daily operations for the manufacturing areas of the assigned department during the assigned shift.
• Trains and assists operators in the department.
• Schedules labor.
• Participates in and leads continuous improvement projects.
• Troubleshoots and communicates product and employee problems to supervisor.
• Works in other departments based on production needs.
• Schedules work for department.
• Coordinates with Production Planner and other supervisors to ensure customer schedules are met.
• Acts as a change agent/leader for new initiatives in department.
• Assists with implementing methods for quality and cost improvements.
• Ensures NES/hourly reports in respective area/shift complete all necessary training.
• Ensures New to the Job (NTJ) requirements are met for reports in respective area/shift.
• Manages respective area/shift NES/hourly reports in Time & Attendance System.
• Participates in the performance appraisals of hourly reports in respective area/shift by providing Area Supervisor with ratings and feedback.
• Recognizes and ensures timely communication of any safety, quality, productivity, and employee concerns to supervision.
• Schedules department coordinating with other manufacturing areas to ensure customer schedules are met.
• Ensures quality and productivity standards are maintained/exceeded.
• Ensures fair and consistent enforcement of all company policies and procedures.
• Actively works to develop and implement Synchronous Manufacturing.
• Must actively participate in seminars and training in supervision, communications, and ongoing improvement programs (ABS, IPC, IPM, EH&S, Synchronous Mfg.).
• Performs other duties as might be assigned by supervision.
• Assists in the implementation of Howmet Aerospace’s EHS value and policy statement and its accompanying principles.
• Complies with all department, facility, Corporate and Regulatory EH&S regulations.
• Wears all required personal protective equipment.
• Reports all job-related illness and injuries.
• Reports all Safety, Health & Environmental concerns to your supervisor in a timely manner.
• Attends all EH&S training.
