About The Position

A molder prepares and assembles molds for aluminum castings and operates molding equipment. This position requires attention to detail, adherence to safety procedures, and the ability to work in a physically demanding manufacturing environment.

Requirements

  • Ability to stand and walk for extended periods.
  • Frequently lift up to 50 pounds.
  • Work in high-temperature environments.
  • Ability to bend, kneel, reach, and perform repetitive tasks.
  • Wear required personal protective equipment (PPE), including heat-resistant clothing, gloves, safety glasses, hearing protection, and steel-toe boots.
  • Work in a manufacturing/foundry environment with exposure to heat, dust, noise, molten metal, and moving machinery.
  • Experience with green sand molding.
  • The line is fairly automated with some lifting.

Nice To Haves

  • Molding or foundry experience preferred; will train.

Responsibilities

  • Prepare sand molds according to production specifications.
  • Pack, ram, and compact molding sand to achieve required mold strength and dimensional accuracy.
  • Set and secure cores, inserts, chills, and other mold components as required
  • Inspect molds for defects before pouring.
  • Perform routine maintenance and cleaning of molding equipment and work areas.
  • Follow all safety, environmental, and housekeeping standards.
  • Assist with preventive maintenance and cleaning of foundry equipment.
