About The Position

This role involves operating rubber injection molding machines to produce quality fiberglass rods for Hubbell Utility Solutions. The operator will be responsible for ensuring parts are produced at the required productivity rate and in accordance with customer specifications and quality principles. The position requires attention to detail for trimming and inspecting parts, identifying process issues, and maintaining production and housekeeping standards. The operator will also be responsible for completing daily paperwork and supporting other operations as needed.

Requirements

  • High School Diploma or GED required
  • Basic math and computer skills
  • Good communication, reading, and organizational skills
  • Ability to work independently, as well as with others
  • Willingness to support other operations or departments as needed
  • Must be comfortable wearing a bump cap, thermal sleeves and flame-resistant jacket, in addition to standard PPE
  • Must be comfortable working around hot molds/ovens
  • Must be comfortable handling hot parts
  • Must be able to lift up to 35 pounds repeatedly through the day
  • Frequent carrying of items up to 35 pounds
  • Gripping repeatedly with good physical dexterity
  • Constant walking and standing for a 12 hour shift
  • Reaching, pulling, bending, stooping,twisting and climbing stairs
  • Must be able to distinguish colors and shades, and have depth perception

Responsibilities

  • Paints fiberglass rods with adhesive as required.
  • Preheats Post fiberglass rod as required.
  • Loads fiberglass rods (up to 18 feet long) into the molds to be over-molded with rubber.
  • Operates rubber injection molding machines to produce quality parts at the required productivity rate, in accordance with customer specifications and Hubbell Utlity Solutions Quality Operating Principles.
  • Perform 100% trim and 100% inspection of all parts.
  • Identifies process issues and report them immediately to Process Techicians for correction.
  • Identifies and segregates scrap when necessary.
  • Completes daily paperwork including Hour-by Hour charts, part counts and other documents.
  • Maintain safety, quality, production, and 5S housekeeping standards.
