The Mold / Tooling Technician is responsible for the maintenance, servicing, and repair of existing injection molding tooling used in production operations. This position supports manufacturing by ensuring molds and associated tooling are maintained in safe, reliable, and production-ready condition. The primary focus of this position is preventive maintenance, inspection, troubleshooting, and corrective repair of production molds. Responsibilities include identifying worn or damaged components, replacing serviceable mold components, performing routine tooling repairs, and coordinating specialized or major tooling repairs with external tool shops or other qualified resources when required. This position is also responsible for maintaining accurate tooling maintenance records within the Computerized Maintenance Management System (CMMS), creating and managing work orders, and maintaining appropriate spare parts inventories for production tooling. This position is focused on the maintenance and reliability of existing production tooling and is not primarily responsible for new mold construction, extensive machining, or major mold modifications. The primary objective of this role is to improve tooling reliability, minimize unplanned production downtime, and support consistent manufacturing performance through effective preventive and corrective tooling maintenance.
