About The Position

Our site in Chaska is seeking a Mold Technician to join our team. In this role, you will be responsible for hanging molds, performing barrel changes, and installation of all auxiliary equipment included in all set-ups. In this role, you will also see a clear path for career advancement. This role plays a key part in maintaining product quality, supporting reliable production flow, and contributing to operational excellence. This position will mainly work 10PM-6AM, Monday-Friday.

Requirements

  • Must be 18 years or older and have the right to work in the US without sponsorship
  • High school diploma or GED required
  • Basic math, computer literacy, and accurate data entry skills; SAP experience preferred
  • Competency using powered hand tools, fasteners, and measurement devices
  • Strong mechanical aptitude and attention to detail for safety and quality
  • Competence in basic math and computer data entry
  • Demonstrated problem-solving and troubleshooting ability in mechanical or process-based environments
  • Ability to recognize and communicate quality defects and ensure parts meet required specifications
  • Ability to kneel, crawl, crouch, and work in confined spaces during mold changes
  • Can comfortably stand and walk for duration of the shift
  • Physical capability to lift up to 60 lbs.
  • Ability to read and follow written instructions
  • Commitment to safety, adherence to procedures, and maintaining a clean, organized work environment

Nice To Haves

  • 3–5 years of mechanical or injection molding setup experience preferred
  • Previous injection mold setup experience preferred
  • Experience participating in continuous improvement activities such as Kaizen, 6S, or waste‑reduction initiatives

Responsibilities

  • Set up production runs in the press and how to maintain auxiliary equipment (single water units/thermolater, temp controller, robot, end of arm tooling)
  • Press TPMs
  • Mold removal to analyze for cleaning/repairs before storing
  • Completes setup/shut down and barrel purge procedures and job packets
  • Focuses on key business processes to influence customer satisfaction, waste elimination, growth, cost effectiveness and product/system quality
  • Promotes and implements use of continuous improvement tools to eliminate non-value activities
  • Participate actively in continuous improvement activities such as 6s, Kaizen events, etc.
  • Completes miscellaneous tasks as assigned in support of the larger organization and production goals
  • Monitor molded parts for visual and dimensional conformity; take corrective action or escalate when necessary
  • Including all other duties as required
