About The Position

Our site in Chaska is seeking a Mold Technician to join our team. In this role, you will be responsible for hanging molds, performing barrel changes, and installation of all auxiliary equipment included in all set-ups. In this role, you will also see a clear path for career advancement. This role plays a key part in maintaining product quality, supporting reliable production flow, and contributing to operational excellence. This position will mainly work 2PM-10PM, Monday-Friday.

Requirements

Must be 18 years or older and have the right to work in the US without sponsorship
High school diploma or GED required
Basic math, computer literacy, and accurate data entry skills
Competency using powered hand tools, fasteners, and measurement devices
Strong mechanical aptitude and attention to detail for safety and quality
Competence in basic math and computer data entry
Demonstrated problem-solving and troubleshooting ability in mechanical or process-based environments
Ability to recognize and communicate quality defects and ensure parts meet required specifications
Ability to kneel, crawl, crouch, and work in confined spaces during mold changes
Can comfortably stand and walk for duration of the shift
Physical capability to lift up to 60 lbs.
Ability to read and follow written instructions
Commitment to safety, adherence to procedures, and maintaining a clean, organized work environment

Nice To Haves

3–5 years of mechanical or injection molding setup experience preferred
SAP experience preferred
Previous injection mold setup experience preferred
Experience participating in continuous improvement activities such as Kaizen, 6S, or waste‑reduction initiatives

Responsibilities

Set up production runs in the press and how to maintain auxiliary equipment (single water units/thermolater, temp controller, robot, end of arm tooling)
Press TPMs
Mold removal to analyze for cleaning/repairs before storing
Completes setup/shut down and barrel purge procedures and job packets
Focuses on key business processes to influence customer satisfaction, waste elimination, growth, cost effectiveness and product/system quality
Promotes and implements use of continuous improvement tools to eliminate non-value activities
Participate actively in continuous improvement activities such as 6s, Kaizen events, etc.
Completes miscellaneous tasks as assigned in support of the larger organization and production goals
Monitor molded parts for visual and dimensional conformity; take corrective action or escalate when necessary
