About The Position

The Mold Technician is responsible for maintaining various types of molds through proper breakdown, cleaning, and preventive maintenance. This role involves inspecting and performing precision measurements of molds and tooling components, comparing them to print specifications. The technician will also prepare and operate a variety of machine tools, including radial drill presses, lathes, milling machines, band/table saws, and sand blasters, to machine metal workpieces, often on a custom basis. Additionally, the role includes fabricating advanced metallic and nonmetallic parts, fitting and assembling machined parts into complete units, and reading and interpreting blueprints, sketches, drawings, manuals, specifications, or sample parts. The technician will measure, mark, and write dimensions and reference points on material or workpieces as guides for subsequent machining.

Requirements

  • High school diploma or GED.
  • 3+ years’ work experience in setting up and operation of Lathes, manual mill, drill press, grinders sand blaster and other machining equipment.
  • 3+ years’ experience using calipers, micrometers, depth gauges and other precision measuring equipment.
  • Advanced knowledge of mechanics, shop mathematics, metal properties

Nice To Haves

  • Vocational or trade school in related trade.
  • 5 years’ experience with troubleshooting and building plastic injection molds.

Responsibilities
