About The Position

The Rubber Molding Production Technician supports efficient and consistent operations within the Rubber Molding Department. This position performs all responsibilities of a Rubber Molding Production Associate while also carrying out advanced technical duties, including equipment operation, changeovers, basic maintenance, and training new employees. The Technician helps ensure product quality, supports troubleshooting activities, and promotes safe work practices. This role contributes to departmental success through strong communication, teamwork, technical skill, and continuous improvement.

Requirements

  • Must be able to handle materials at elevated temperatures (up to 380°F) while using appropriate PPE
  • Strong attention to detail with the ability to perform accurate quality inspections
  • Ability to train and mentor others effectively
  • Strong communication skills for interacting with team members, leads, and supervisors
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team
  • Proficiency in basic math and the ability to read and interpret measurements
  • Basic computer skills, including data entry and the use of production or email systems
  • Reliable and consistent attendance
  • High School Diploma or GED preferred
  • 6+ months of experience as a Rubber Molding Production Associate or similar production role preferred

Responsibilities

  • Perform all Rubber Molding Production Associate duties, including operating molding presses and packaging rubber gaskets according to established work instructions
  • Run up to two machines per shift while maintaining safe, efficient, and consistent production output
  • Operate light machinery, hand tools, and automated equipment safely and effectively to support molding operations
  • Perform quick and accurate changeovers for new product profiles or tooling to maintain smooth production flow
  • Conduct basic and preventative maintenance on molding equipment and assist with identifying mechanical or process issues
  • Train and mentor new operators to ensure they understand molding processes, safety procedures, and quality expectations
  • Serve as a backup to the Lead when needed, supporting daily priorities and reinforcing departmental objectives
  • Inspect materials and molded products to ensure they meet all quality standards; report any defects or inconsistencies promptly
  • Accurately complete production records, rate boards, paperwork, and computer entries in a timely manner
  • Maintain a clean, organized, and safe workspace, following 5S and housekeeping standards
  • Follow all OSHA and company safety regulations and ensure proper use of required PPE, especially when handling hot materials
  • Communicate effectively with supervisors, leads, and team members regarding production issues, equipment concerns, and process improvement opportunities
  • Work independently and collaboratively with team members to meet daily production goals
  • Identify and report process inefficiencies, mechanical concerns, or opportunities for continuous improvement
  • Maintain reliable and consistent attendance to support departmental needs
  • Perform other duties as assigned
