We are currently seeking for Mold Technicians for our fast-paced manufacturing operations. This position is for the 2nd shift regularly scheduled Monday - Friday, and may require Saturday. There are immediate advancement opportunities for those with the desire, the initiative, and that perform above expectations. The primary focus of this position is continuously keeping the presses running in a safe manner. This position requires the ability to (this is not a complete job description). First and foremost, the priority of this position will be the mounting tooling for production on a timely basis and schedule sent by the Production Planner. This will be done each day/shift and reviewed with employee by supervisor. The job will require drilling, tapping, and attaching fasteners to secure the mold tooling to the appropriate press subplates. Lifting will be involved per above listed capabilities. Proper and safe procedures must be followed to accomplish the main task, mounting tooling. This job will be performed in a safe and expedient manner. Employees will use many of the capabilities required above to accomplish this task. This position will assist, when needed, to operate floor sweeper or provide other assistance to keep manufacturing facility clean, orderly, and safe. Assist/help maintenance department to complete other manual labor tasks as directed by the supervisor.

Requirements

  • Able to drill and tap holes in aluminum tooling accurately, at correct depth.
  • Use basic shop tools.
  • Work with jigs and alignment tools.
  • Able to measure accurately with tape measure, use micrometers, feeler, and depth gauges.
  • Able to perform basic math calculations.
  • Capable of lifting 20+ pounds, lifting, pushing.
  • Some computer skills.
  • Have mechanical aptitude.
  • Able to follow database to determine correct mold mounting.
  • Able to follow mold mounting procedures.
  • Operator Hyster.
  • Use hand tools.
  • Must be able to attain Lock Out Tag Out qualification.

Responsibilities

  • Continuously keeping the presses running in a safe manner.
  • Mounting tooling for production on a timely basis and schedule sent by the Production Planner.
  • Drilling, tapping, and attaching fasteners to secure the mold tooling to the appropriate press subplates.
  • Assisting to operate floor sweeper or provide other assistance to keep manufacturing facility clean, orderly, and safe.
  • Assisting the maintenance department to complete other manual labor tasks as directed by the supervisor.
  • Drill and tap holes in aluminum tooling accurately, at correct depth.
  • Clean up and 5 S mold shop daily on assignment basis.
  • Work with Maintenance as needed on manual labor jobs.
  • Track stock usage of fasteners, aluminum materials, tooling parts, and tooling. Alert manager to restock.
  • Operate, perform minor repairs, and perform PMs on sandblaster.
  • Follow database to determine correct mold mounting.
  • Follow mold mounting procedures.
  • Operator Hyster.
  • Learn Mold Changes on Big Presses / other presses.
  • Read recipes for Waterjet Presses.
