About The Position

Responsible for the set-up and adjusting of the molding machines, molds and support equipment to produce the products to the product drawing and quality control standards. This role requires understanding and adherence to all company policies, procedures, and safety regulations. The position also involves maintaining the 6S system, adhering to ISO documentation, and ensuring quality standards are met. The Mold Set Up technician will select appropriate molds, materials, and support equipment, make adjustments to machinery operated by Machine Operators, and conduct First Part testing. Regular attendance and adherence to a 12-hour work schedule with overtime as needed are expected. The role also involves reading and interpreting blueprints, ensuring safety guards are in place, and performing dimensional checks with calipers and measuring tools. Compliance with ISO 9001, ISO 14001, and OSHAS 18001 standards is required, along with maintaining a safe working environment.

Requirements

  • Thorough, accurate and works error free
  • Able to perform all quality control checks within your department
  • Trained to perform certain preventative maintenance tasks at various work centers
  • Mechanical skills; must be able to operate and set-up machinery
  • Understanding of process sheets
  • Able to select the proper component parts required for a work center
  • Able to identify and report malfunctions in the operation of equipment
  • Capable of working with the floor inspectors to resolve quality problems
  • Knowledge of commonly-used concepts, practices and procedures within manufacturing environment
  • Programming and operations knowledge of all equipment within the Molding Departments

  • Understand and follow work procedures as set forth by all ISO documentation
  • Maintain quality standards on all products
  • Set-up the equipment selecting the proper molds, material, and support equipment to meet engineering and production standards
  • Make adjustments to the equipment operated by Machine Operators
  • Conducting First Part dimensional and destructive testing
  • Other duties as assigned
  • Maintain regular attendance per the schedule assigned by supervisor
  • Understand and follow all safety policies and procedures
  • Set up machines per the established mold setup sheets
  • Make and record deviations to the mold setup sheet on the Deviation Report
  • Read and interpret blueprints
  • Maintain all production standards
  • Ensure that all guards and safety equipment have been installed and properly checked out prior to operating or turning equipment over to an operator
  • Check parts dimensionally with calipers and measuring tools to maintain engineering drawing tolerances
  • Adhere to ISO 9001 Quality, ISO 14001 Environmental, and OSHAS 18001 certification requirements
  • Maintain a safe working environment for all employees
