About The Position

Horton, Inc., a global airflow industry leader, has an opening for a 3rd shift Mold Operator in its Westminster, SC location. The standard 3rd shift hours are Sunday through Wednesday, from 9:30 pm to 7:30 am, with occasional overtime possible. This role is primarily responsible for producing quality plastic molded products by operating various types of machinery. Horton, Inc. is a global leader in thermal control for power systems, providing innovative and reliable engine cooling solutions for transportation and industrial applications for over 75 years.

Requirements

  • Previous relevant work experience in a manufacturing environment.
  • Must be able to work 3rd shift.
  • Must have reliable transportation.
  • Attention to detail is a must.
  • Ability to work well in a group and individually.
  • Some degree of mechanical aptitude is required.
  • Must be authorized to work in the United States.
  • No Visa sponsorship provided now or in the future for this position.

Responsibilities

  • Perform daily tasks.
  • Read and follow instructions on routings and work instructions for each job.
  • Check stock bins for adequate supplies of sub-assembly, parts, and other necessary items.
  • Complete all departmental paperwork, including routings, assembly tickets, downtime tracking sheets, production status sheets, and checklists.
  • Follow work instructions or routings.
  • Package product, if applicable.
  • Safely operate machinery used for assembly components, which may include hand tools to large stamping or molding presses.
  • Use quality inspection tools such as gauges, micrometers, and/or calipers.
  • Continuously inspect part quality.
  • Maintain production rate on each job.
  • Load and unload presses when operated in manual mode.
  • Operate and set up all simple machines within the assigned area.
  • Move pallets with assemblies to designated staging areas.
  • Ensure data accuracy before entering scrap/production into Oracle.
  • Inspect presses for any mechanical issues and report immediately to leadership.
  • Elevate issues to management, including discrepancies.
  • Perform other duties as assigned to support the overall success of the company.
