About The Position

We are seeking an experienced Mold Maker with a strong background in benching and fitting mold components within a mold base. The ideal candidate will have at least 10 years of experience working with various equipment and a deep understanding of tool steels. This role requires a self-starter who can work from verbal directions and blueprints, troubleshoot manufacturing issues, and mentor new team members. The ability to work off-hours or off-shifts is also necessary.

Requirements

10 years in a role as a mold maker benching and fitting mold components together with in a mold base.
10 years or greater showing proficiency of working with a Knee Mill.
10 years or greater showing proficiency of working with a Turret or manual lathe.
10 years or greater showing proficiency of working with a Surface grinder.
10 years or greater showing proficiency of working with a Radial arm drill press.
Proficiency in Tig welding of mold cavities.
2 years of Laser welding (Yag or flex weld repair application).
Understanding of tool steels regarding working these steels.
Experience working in a mold shop or tool shop making new cavities or details.
Must have own measure tools.
Ability to demonstrate an ability to perform trouble shooting and resolve issues from the manufacturing floor regarding failures.
Self-starter capable of working from verbal directions and blueprints.

CNC VMC desirable
CMM desirable
Programing experience of Master Cam desirable.

Responsibilities

Benching and fitting mold components together within a mold base.
Operating and demonstrating proficiency with knee mills, turret or manual lathes, surface grinders, and radial arm drill presses.
TIG welding of mold cavities.
Performing laser welding (Yag or flex weld repair applications).
Working in a mold shop or tool shop making new cavities or details.
Troubleshooting and resolving manufacturing floor issues related to failures.
Mentoring new team members.
Working from verbal directions and blueprints.
Continuing specific training to promote the growth of the model shop.
