About The Position

Responsible for cutting, staining and preparing tissue samples for the dermatopathologist to review. This position is also responsible for prioritizing testing procedures and completing those procedures in an accurate and timely manner and maintaining proper accurate records of all tests done in accordance with established policies, procedures and regulations. Using automated equipment and instruments including microscopes, cryotomes, microtomes and other lab equipment. Requires knowledge in general biology, anatomy, physiology, and chemistry with an understanding of the related scientific methods. Operates and maintains lab instruments; Use, safe handling and storage of all reagents and stains; Maintains records and documentation required to manage the daily workflow and provide QC/QA monitors; Maintain and updating CLIA records for licensure. Demonstrates interpersonal skills required to successfully perform as a team member in a constantly changing environment; Maintains confidentiality regarding all phases of laboratory work and findings. Seeking an experienced histotechnologist to join Mohs surgical derm onc clinic team. Mohs experience preferred but not required.

Requirements

  • Prior tissue cutting and preparation experience.
  • Knowledge in general biology, anatomy, physiology, and chemistry with an understanding of the related scientific methods.

Nice To Haves

  • One year Mohs histology experience.
  • Mohs experience preferred but not required.
  • Certification Histotechnician (HT) or Histotechnologist (HTL) through ASCP Preferred
