About The Position

Platinum Dermatology Partners is seeking a Mohs Histotechnologist to work with our team. This role supports the diagnostic evaluation of tissue by performing histological procedures within the guidelines established by histology and MOHS laboratory. The position involves performing a variety of specialized histopathological procedures, including High Complexity Testing such as receiving fresh unfixed specimens, mapping, grossing, sectioning, ink application, and preparing tissue as needed. Non-High Complexity Testing includes embedding, cryotomy, staining, and coverslipping.

Requirements

Must be a certified Histotechnologist.
Qualified applicants will have prior histology experience, specifically in dermatology.
Must have 2-3 years of experience working in a dermatology office.
Quality written and verbal communication skills with attention to detail.
Strong phone etiquette.
Teamwork.
Professional in appearance and mannerisms.
Able to demonstrate compassion and caring when dealing with others, patients, and co-workers.
Able to prioritize tasks, understand the provider’s instructions, and know when to seek information or advice.
Strong organizational skills.
Ability to thrive in a fast-paced environment.
Experience working on electronic medical records.
Valid Driver's License

Nice To Haves

A bachelor of science degree is preferred.

Responsibilities

Support the diagnostic evaluation of tissue by histological procedures.
Perform histological duties within the guidelines established by histology and MOHS laboratory.
Perform a variety of specialized histopathological procedures.
Receiving fresh unfixed specimen at time of tissue removal, mapping, grossing, sectioning of specimen, ink application, relax cuts and scoring of tissue as needed.
Embedding, cryotomy, staining and coverslipping.
