Requirements
- Completion of Mohs Training Program Required
- Basic Life Support (BLS) from the American Heart Association required
Responsibilities
- Specimen handling and processing including gross, embed, cut, stain and coverslip specimens for microscopic evaluation by the surgeon following established policies and procedures.
- Prepare and evaluate stains, reagents and solutions necessary for slide prep following established policies and procedures.
- Perform quality control and preventative maintenance procedures to assure instruments, stains and procedures are within acceptable standards by taking corrective action if necessary and notifying lab director/licensed health care practitioner.
- Assist with quality assurance and proficiency testing following established policies and procedures.
- Assists with regulatory compliance by maintaining accurate records.
- Complete yearly competency testing.
- Adhere to OSHA, CLIA and HIPPA regulations.
