About The Position

Anne Arundel Dermatology is searching for a self-motivated, high energy Mohs Histotechnician to join our growing practice. Requirements

A minimum of 1 years’ experience with frozen sections, grossing, embedding, and cutting tissue for Mohs cases
Detail-oriented person

Adapt to cutting different tissue sizes
Triage and prioritize multiple specimens coming into the lab at one time.
Independently cut and process 12 -14 Mohs cases with a 20 minute turnaround time from the time tissue is received to when the provider is reviewing under the microscope.

Nice To Haves

HT (ASCP) or have earned an associate degree in a laboratory science, or medical laboratory technology from an accredited institution or have at least 60 semester hours in science from an accredited institution.

Responsibilities

Prepare frozen sections of tissue for microscopic examination using Cryostat.
Cares for, maintains, and troubleshoots all laboratory equipment, instruments, and accessories.
Cleans, stocks, and inventories the laboratory area.
Demonstrate knowledge of CLIA and OSHA standards.
Perform other specific duties that are assigned by the lab manager as required.
Other duties assigned as deemed necessary by management.
