About The Position

The Mohs Histotechnician is responsible for supporting Mohs micrographic surgery procedures by preparing and processing high-quality tissue specimens for microscopic examination and diagnosis. The role requires precision, attention to detail, and the ability to work effectively in a fast-paced clinical environment.

Requirements

Bachelor’s Degree in Histotechnology or a related field.
ASCP Histotechnologist (HTL) certification preferred.
Previous experience in a Mohs histotechnology laboratory strongly preferred.
Outstanding attention to detail and organizational skills.
Effective communication skills and ability to work collaboratively within a healthcare team.
Ability to manage multiple tasks in a fast-paced environment.
Applicants must be currently authorized to work in the United States in a full-time basis.

Responsibilities

Prepare and cut frozen sections of tissue specimens using Mohs surgical techniques.
Process and embed tissue samples efficiently for histopathological evaluation.
Perform various staining techniques to prepare slides ensuring quality and consistency.
Document procedures and maintain accurate records.
Ensure compliance with laboratory safety and CLIA regulatory standards.
Maintain, calibrate, and troubleshoot laboratory equipment.
Collaborate with surgical and clinical teams to facilitate smooth Mohs procedures.
Provide guidance and training to laboratory staff as needed.
Participate in continuing education to maintain and improve histotechnical skills.
Perform other related duties as assigned by the laboratory supervisor or team lead.
