The Part-Time Mohs Histotech in Wilmington, NC supports the Mohs surgical team by preparing and processing tissue specimens using established Mohs micrographic surgery techniques. This position requires precision, efficiency, and close collaboration with dermatologists to deliver optimal patient outcomes.

Requirements

Strong attention to detail and manual dexterity.
Ability to work independently during part-time hours while maintaining collaboration with clinical team.
Excellent communication and organizational skills.
Applicants must be currently authorized to work in the United States in a full-time basis.

Nice To Haves

Bachelor’s Degree in Histotechnology or related field preferred.
Certification as a Histotechnologist (HTL) by the ASCP is preferred.
Previous experience in Mohs histotechnology is highly desirable.

Responsibilities

Prepare, process, and cut frozen tissue sections using Mohs technique.
Stain and mount tissue slides accurately for surgeon evaluation.
Maintain quality control standards to ensure precise histological preparation.
Document all procedures and maintain detailed records according to CLIA and laboratory protocols.
Operate and maintain laboratory equipment and troubleshoot as needed.
Ensure compliance with laboratory safety standards and maintain a sterile work environment.
Collaborate effectively with clinical and surgical staff to support patient care.
Stay current on histotechnology best practices through ongoing education and training.
Perform additional duties as assigned to support departmental operations.
