About The Position
Duly Health and Care is hiring a Mohs Medical Assistant for its Dermatology team in Lombard. This full-time position is scheduled for 40 hours per week, Monday through Friday, with hours varying between 7:30 a.m. and 5 p.m. according to the schedule and business needs. Travel to other local sites may be required to provide coverage. The Medical Assistant supports physicians and patients throughout the care process, including patient intake, examinations, minor office surgeries, testing, and follow-up administrative tasks. The role also helps maintain welcoming examination rooms and deliver customer service in accordance with Duly Health and Care’s CARE values.
Requirements
- High school diploma or GED.
- Completion of a Medical Assistant educational program, higher education courses in health sciences, or related experience.
- CPR certification or willingness to become certified upon hire.
- Phlebotomy certification may be required within 90 days of hire.
- Prior experience as an MA, CMA, CNA, or EMT, or at least 2 years of experience working in a medical office assisting with patient care.
- For some clinical specialties, active medical assistant certification through AMT, NCCT, NHA, ARMA, or AAMA is required.
Responsibilities
- Greet patients and assist with registration, scheduling, measuring vital signs, and collecting health history.
- Support physicians during examinations, minor office surgeries, dressing changes, and other first-aid procedures.
- Assist with immunizations or injections if certified as a medical assistant.
- Help patients with prescription requests, respond to pharmacy callbacks, process provider orders, update charting, and file records.
- Conduct onsite lab testing, including EKG, pulmonary function, blood glucose, and urine pregnancy tests.
- Maintain clean, warm, and inviting examination rooms for patient visits.
- Provide excellent customer service in accordance with Duly Health and Care’s CARE values.
- Travel to other local clinics as needed to assist with coverage.
