About The Position

Northrop Grumman Space Systems is seeking a Sr Principal Modeling and Simulation Systems Engineer to join their team. The role will support a growing portfolio of programs and IRADs focused on missile defense, space, and intelligence. The engineer will be part of various modeling, simulation, and analysis (MS&A) project teams, evaluating the mission performance of military systems. This position specifically focuses on the development and analysis of models and simulations utilizing the Advanced Framework for Simulation, Integration, and Modeling (AFSIM) Framework. Domestic travel (up to 10%) may be required.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s Degree in a STEM (Science, Technology, Engineering or Mathematics) discipline from an accredited university and 5 years of related work experience (Level 3), or 8 years of related work experience (Level 4), OR a Master's Degree in STEM and 3 years of related work experience (Level 3), or 6 years of related work experience (Level 4), OR 1 year of related work experience with a PhD in STEM (Level 3), or 4 years of related work experience with a PhD in STEM (Level 4).
  • Current, active in-scope DoD-issued Top Secret security clearance at the time of application.
  • Ability and willingness to travel 10% to support business needs.
  • Experience using Modeling, Simulation, and Analysis (MS&A) to inform the development of systems along the left side of the “systems engineering vee”.
  • Experience using Python, MATLAB, SQL, or related technologies to interpret complex data sets.
  • Comfortable communicating technical information to technical and non-technical customers.
  • Experience mentoring and developing junior-level engineers.
  • Ability to work autonomously and collaboratively in a team setting.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
