About The Position

deciBel Research has an immediate opening for a Modeling and Simulation Software Engineer in Huntsville, AL. The selected Software Engineer responsibilities will include the support of the Ground Weapons System (GWS) program as an individual contributor on the Simulation team under the System Performance and Analysis product line. This role is responsible for developing SW products that directly support the design and development of the GWS capability on behalf of the Missile Defense Agency (MDA). The selected candidate should thrive in a fast-paced work environment with high expectations, significantly diverse assignments, and collaborative/teams comprised of all experience levels.

Requirements

• Bachelor's Degree in a STEM (Science, Technology, Engineering or Mathematics) discipline from an accredited university and 2 Years Experience with Bachelors in Science; 0 Years Experience with Masters
• Experience designing and/or implementing software using Object Oriented Programming using languages such as C++, Python, Go, or MATLAB
• Experience with unit testing or Test Driven Development
• Experience applying critical thinking skills and capturing concepts in work products, presentations, and discussions
• Experience capturing work concepts in presentations and discussions
• Capable of working both independently and within a team environment
• Applicants must have a current active in-scope U.S. Government DoD issued Secret security clearance at the time of application which is required to start
• Ability and willingness to travel up to 10% of the time
• Must be able to work on-site, in office
• Must be a U.S. Citizen.

Nice To Haves

• Modeling and Simulation experience
• Experience with Jira/Confluence/Bitbucket
• Experience with Bamboo, Jenkins, Fortify, Coverity, SQL Databases
• Experience or familiarity with GMD/GWS
• Experience with containers and container development
