About The Position

We are seeking a qualified Mid-Level Model-Based Systems Engineer in Arlington, VA. This position is not eligible for hybrid or remote work situations. This is a 100% on-site, in-office position. The selectee will perform as the Decision Technologies Model-Based Systems Engineer for a US Navy Weapons Engineering and Program Acquisition Support contract. YOU MUST BE ELIGIBLE FOR A DOD SECRET CLEARANCE

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s Degree in a relevant technical discipline
  • At least 4 years’ experience as a model-based systems engineer (non-IT systems) for defense or aerospace systems
  • An active DoD SECRET clearance
  • Prior SIPR account and experience using SIPR systems
  • Ability to work effectively with team members and subcontractors from various technical, acquisition, and administrative disciplines
  • Excellent interpersonal, leadership, and communication skills
  • Ability to develop and deliver coherent and concise customer presentations

Nice To Haves

  • Master’s Degree in a relevant technical discipline
  • Direct experience with MBSE for specific Navy terminal defense systems such as RAM and CIWS.
  • Experience with DoD modeling frameworks, e.g., DoDAF, UAF, UPDM
  • Experience with Navy-specific modeling tools, e.g. Cameo Systems Modeler, MagicDraw, Teamwork Cloud, the Navy High Performance Computing Center, Navy LIFT, etc.
  • Experience with the Navy modeling schema documented in the Integrated Capability Framework (ICF)

Responsibilities

  • Develop models, architectural products, and digital artifacts for a system and/or System-of-Systems (SoS) in line with established standards, best practices, policies, and procedures
  • Apply modeling techniques to support various stages of the acquisition lifecycle, including requirements setting, design, analysis, verification, and validation for systems or SoS
  • Provide crucial support to ensure that systems are designed and developed to be interoperable, facilitating effective communication and interaction among various system components
  • Produce detailed reports that inform and guide the management of MBSE and digital environment activities, aiding in strategic decision-making processes
  • Manage and coordinate information and resources effectively to achieve objectives related to the digital thread, ensuring seamless data integration and flow across the system lifecycle
  • Implement and promote a model-based culture within the organization, leveraging the capabilities of the digital enterprise environment infrastructure to enhance system development and operations
  • Utilize model data to enable the creation of a comprehensive digital thread that integrates with other engineering disciplines, such as cybersecurity and configuration management, fostering a holistic approach to system development.
