About The Position

Leidos is seeking a cleared Model-Based Systems Engineer (MBSE) to join their Defense Group in Arlington, VA. This role will support multiple DoD customers in developing advanced technology to protect warfighters. The position involves requirement and design architecture analysis, MBSE model development, and potentially creating briefing materials for design reviews and Technical Exchanges. The Non-Kinetic Effects Business Area is looking for individuals who can contribute to a diverse portfolio of programs and help create "bleeding edge" technology.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in engineering or related field with 2+ years of prior relevant experience or a master’s degree with at least a year experience in systems engineering, software engineering, test engineering or related field.
  • Must be a US Citizen.
  • Must have an active Secret clearance with the ability to obtain TS.
  • Experience working in a SIL environment.
  • Experience with SysML, preferably using Cameo/MagicDraw.
  • Strong desire to grow and learn new technologies.
  • Ability to communicate effectively in writing and verbally.
  • Ability to work within a dynamic work environment.
  • Ability to handle multiple tasks at once (multi-task).

Nice To Haves

  • Active TS clearance.
  • Familiar with Agile Methodologies, preferably SCRUM or Kanban.
  • Experience with Atlassian tools such as JIRA, Confluence, Bitbucket.
  • OCSMP (OMG Certification for Systems Modeling Professionals).
  • Experience with executable SysML simulation capabilities and scripting languages.
  • Experience with MBSE methodologies such as Magicgrid.
  • Understanding of military CONOPS.
  • Knowledge of NKE (Non-Kinetic Effects).
  • Knowledge of Electronic Warfare.

Responsibilities

  • Use MBSE methodologies and tools to develop system architectures on new development programs.
  • Incorporate Leidos unique capabilities into test or fielded HW.
  • Assist the technical team in aligning the solution architecture to customer requirements.
  • Exercise existing tools and models and create new models to represent emerging systems.
  • Capture, decompose, and trace system level requirements using MBSE tools like NoMagic CSM.
  • Analyze, define, and refine architectures and interfaces.
  • Develop system structure and behavior.
  • Collaborate with government stakeholders, software, test, mechanical, and electrical teams.
