Model Based System Engineer
About The Position
This is a systems-level role requiring a strong hardware background and prior experience in the following areas: Design of complex high-speed digital circuit card assemblies, including PCIe. Leading and mentoring junior engineers. Supporting testing and troubleshooting of systems, modules, and sub-assemblies, working closely with program engineering teams. Collaborating with Engineering, Operations, Quality, and other teams to drive root cause analysis and defect resolution. Driving improvements in product and test design to reduce cost, improve yield, and increase throughput. Creating and reviewing technical documentation such as test procedures, drawings, specifications, reports, and ECOs. Interfacing with government customers and suppliers as needed. Providing training and support to technicians and manufacturing teams. Supporting Root Cause and Corrective Action (RCCA) activities. Mentoring peers and junior engineers.
Requirements
- Experience in Model-Based Systems Engineering (MBSE)
- Hands-on experience with MATLAB/Simulink
- Experience with airborne actuators
- Bachelor's degree with 5+ years of relevant experience (or equivalent)
- High-speed digital circuit card design experience
- Experience in design, integration, and testing of complex electronic systems
- Strong understanding of electrical engineering principles and problem-solving
- Aerospace actuator design experience is a must.
Nice To Haves
- Industrial temperature digital circuit card design
- FPGA-based circuit card design
- Experience with embedded processors, PCIe, Ethernet, 1553, SERDES, Fiber Optic, DDR3/DDR4
- Experience with CAD tools (Mentor/Siemens Xpedition)
- Pre- and post-layout simulation using HyperLynx
- Ability to guide layout and routing rules
- Strong technical communication and documentation skills
- Proven ability to meet challenging design requirements
- Leadership qualities and ability to work in a team environment
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills
- Ability to own tasks and drive them to completion
- Experience presenting technical information to stakeholders
