Full-Time Mobile Veterinarian
About The Position
Lap of Love Veterinary Hospice is hiring a full-time mobile veterinarian serving Wilmington, Leland, Southport, Hampstead, Oak Island, Rocky Point, North Carolina, and surrounding areas. The veterinarian provides compassionate hospice and euthanasia care for pets and their families in their homes. The role offers an alternative to in-clinic practice, with flexible schedules, an average of three to four appointments per day, and time to focus on families rather than paperwork. Veterinarians practice independently while remaining connected to a community of more than 400 veterinarians and support professionals, with onboarding, mentorship, experienced leaders, and a 24/7/365 Support Center. Three-, four-, and five-day schedules are available, with compensation varying by schedule. Four-day positions start at $75,000, and five-day positions offer a $90,000 base salary, plus bonus opportunities. Three-day full-time and part-time opportunities are also available with prorated compensation.
Requirements
- Doctor of Veterinary Medicine degree (DVM, VMD, or BVMS).
- Valid U.S. driver’s license.
- Availability to work some weekends.
- Ability to lift up to 50 pounds unassisted and up to 100 pounds with assistance.
- Candidates are subject to a background and motor vehicle record check after hire and before their associated start date.
Responsibilities
- Provide compassionate hospice and euthanasia care for pets and families.
- Conduct mobile appointments in clients’ homes across the listed service area.
- Spend time supporting families during meaningful end-of-life moments for their pets.
