Full-Time Mobile Veterinarian
About The Position
Lap of Love Veterinary Hospice is hiring a full-time mobile veterinarian serving Mechanicsville, Maryland, including Leonardtown, Huntingtown, La Plata, Lusby, Lexington Park, and surrounding areas. The veterinarian provides compassionate hospice and euthanasia care for pets and their families in their homes, helping families through meaningful end-of-life moments. The role offers 3-, 4-, and 5-day schedule options, with an average of 3–4 unhurried appointments per day. Veterinarians work independently in the field while receiving onboarding, mentorship, access to experienced leaders, and support from a 24/7/365 Support Center. Compensation varies by schedule: 4-day positions start at $75,000, and 5-day positions offer a $90,000 base salary, with additional bonus opportunities. Three-day full-time and part-time opportunities are also available with prorated compensation.
Requirements
- Doctor of Veterinary Medicine degree or equivalent (DVM/VMD/BVMS).
- Valid U.S. driver's license.
- Availability to work some weekends.
- Ability to lift up to 50 pounds unassisted and up to 100 pounds with assistance.
- Candidates must pass a background and motor vehicle record check after hire and before their associated start date.
Responsibilities
- Provide in-home hospice and euthanasia care for pets and their families.
- Conduct an average of 3–4 appointments per day, allowing time for families and patient care.
