About The Position

Slegg Building Materials is seeking a full time Mobile Tools & Fastener Salesperson to operate our Slegg/Milwaukee ‘PRO’ Van. You will be servicing and selling Milwaukee tools and accessories to existing and new Slegg customers, as well as providing a hot shot delivery service to jobsites. You will also be responsible for sales and inventory control within the van and product delivery in the Greater Victoria Region. The annual salary is $50,000 - $55,000, plus commission.

Requirements

  • Valid Class 5 Driver’s License with clean driver’s abstract
  • Outgoing, energetic and enjoy working with the public.
  • Self-starter who will cultivate and grow the business.
  • Exceptional time management skills with a proven ability to be on time, one time, every time.
  • Able to work independently.
  • Detail oriented with disciplined work habits.
  • Broad knowledge of Building Supplies/Fasteners/Power Tools/Hand Tools
  • Strong computer literacy is required (Microsoft experience is an asset)
  • Inventory Management experience is an asset.
  • Previous sales experience is an asset.

Responsibilities

  • Act as an ambassador for the company with all employees and customers.
  • Maintain an emphasis on a safety culture, customer service, and efficiency as top priorities.
  • Drive the Slegg Pro Van to customer job sites in the West Shore and Greater Victoria areas, showcase to contractors an extensive selection of over 300+ products including tools, tool accessories, fasteners, hardware and more.
  • Take orders and provide hot-shot delivery of required materials (tools/fasteners/hardware)
  • Specific ownership and accountability for the Slegg Pro Van including inventory control and asset protection.
  • Build strong customer relationships through reliable call backs; follow up on Sales Orders and awareness of customer timelines.
  • Assist customers with purchases on account; provide suggestions and recommendations on new products/systems.
  • Track orders and follow up to ensure deadlines are met.
  • Build strong relationships and communication with the sales team and purchasing group.
  • Host vendors for ride-alongs and joint sales calls.
  • Maintain pristine appearance of Van – exterior and merchandised interior.
  • Ensure inventory is properly accounted for and controlled.
  • Work with Category Manager on stocking selection to drive sales.
  • Coordinate, and participate in marketing programs including PRO Show, Job Site Events, Parking Lot/Tent Sales, Community Events (limited evening/weekend work will be required)
