About The Position

Midwest Bus Sales is seeking an experienced Mobile Service Technician to perform diagnostics, repairs, preventive maintenance, and inspections on medium- and heavy-duty fleet vehicles at customer locations throughout the Bonner Springs market. This is a field-based service role for a technician who is comfortable working independently, diagnosing complex issues, and delivering high-quality repairs at customer locations. Requirements

  • Strong experience repairing medium- or heavy-duty vehicles
  • Advanced mechanical and diagnostic skills
  • Experience with electrical, hydraulic, suspension, brake, and HVAC systems
  • Ability to use computerized diagnostic equipment
  • Experience using power tools, hand tools, and standard repair equipment
  • Strong troubleshooting and problem-solving skills
  • Excellent time management and organizational skills
  • Strong communication and customer-service skills
  • Ability to work independently and manage multiple priorities
  • High attention to detail and commitment to quality repairs

Responsibilities

  • Diagnose and repair medium- and heavy-duty trucks, buses, and related fleet equipment
  • Perform preventive maintenance and vehicle inspections
  • Diagnose and repair electrical, hydraulic, suspension, brake, and air-conditioning systems
  • Use vehicle electronic diagnostic systems to identify failure modes and complete repairs
  • Perform technically difficult repairs, overhauls, and rebuilds as needed
  • Respond to customer service calls and emergency breakdowns
  • Communicate repair needs, estimated repair time, and required materials to the Service Writer
  • Identify warrantable repairs and document them accurately on repair orders
  • Complete repair documentation, parts usage, and labor time in the fleet maintenance system
  • Maintain positive, professional relationships with customers
  • Keep current on new equipment, technology, repair procedures, and industry regulations
  • Help identify opportunities to strengthen customer relationships and grow the service business
