Requirements

  • Experience performing maintenance on trucks from class 5 through class 8 vehicles and recreational vehicles.
  • Proficiency in diagnosing and repairing various truck systems.
  • Ability to use hand tools such as screwdrivers, pliers, wrenches, pressure gauges, and precision instruments.
  • Ability to use power tools such as pneumatic wrenches, welding equipment, and jacks and hoists.
  • Ability to communicate with customers to understand their repair needs and advise of required repairs.
  • Ability to create and open work orders.
  • Ability to create and maintain weekly schedule of repair locations.
  • Ability to maintain proper parts inventory on road service repair vehicles.
  • Ability to schedule, maintain and report all maintenance for road service repair vehicles.
  • Ability to maintain correct time punches and work order processes.
  • Ability to maintain efficiency standards and attendance policy.
  • Ability to tag all parts as required and follow all warranty procedures set for by each OEM.
  • Ability to test drive trucks to diagnose malfunctions or to ensure that they are working properly.
  • Ability to inspect, test, and listen to defective equipment to diagnose malfunctions, using test instruments such as handheld computers, motor analyzers, chassis charts, and pressure gauges.
  • Ability to keep work area clean and free of debris.
  • Ability to keep customer vehicle clean during repair process and after repairs are complete.

Responsibilities

  • Performs maintenance on trucks from class 5 through class 8 vehicles and recreational vehicles per OEM and company guidelines at various locations away from the main shops.
  • Diagnoses and repairs various truck systems using hand tools such as screwdrivers, pliers, wrenches, pressure gauges, and precision instruments, as well as power tools such as pneumatic wrenches, welding equipment, and jacks and hoists.
  • Ensures that repairs are completed in a complete and accurate manner as per supervisor or work order instructions.
  • Communicates with customers to understand their repair needs and advises of required repairs.
  • Creates and opens work orders.
  • Creates and maintains weekly schedule of repair locations.
  • Maintains proper parts inventory on road service repair vehicles.
  • Schedules, maintains, and reports all maintenance for road service repair vehicles.
