About The Position

APPS Paramedical provides mobile insurance examination services to local communities. The Mobile Phlebotomist conducts insurance examinations in applicants’ homes and other local settings, collecting specimens, recording examination information, and providing respectful, attentive patient service. The role involves working independently while following established procedures, with a flexible schedule for both the phlebotomist and the client. Work is in person.

Requirements

• Phlebotomy experience and familiarity with specimen collection, processing, and laboratory procedures.
• Knowledge of anatomy and physiology, patient care, and laboratory techniques.
• Strong patient service and customer service skills, including the ability to work respectfully with people across age groups.
• Ability to perform accurate data entry.
• Ability to manage equipment and supplies, including occasional heavy lifting.
• Ability to work independently while following established procedures.

Nice To Haves

• Medical laboratory work or clinical laboratory experience is preferred.
• Experience with anatomy and physiology, patient care, and laboratory techniques is helpful.

Responsibilities

• Perform mobile venipuncture and blood sampling.
• Collect, process, label, and handle specimens using aseptic technique and proper specimen-handling procedures.
• Perform EKGs, life insurance medical exams, and clinical trial specimen collections.
• Obtain vital signs and accurately enter information into electronic medical or health records (EMR/EHR), completing required data entry.
• Explain examination steps using clear language and medical terminology appropriate to the patient.
• Follow laboratory procedures and techniques, maintain specimen integrity, and prepare materials for transport.
• Manage equipment and supplies, including occasional heavy lifting.
• Provide respectful, attentive patient and customer service.
