About The Position

This role involves traveling to Skilled Nursing Facilities and Private Residential homes to service patients. The Mobile Phlebotomist is responsible for courteous customer interaction, accurate and timely collection of urine, oral fluid, and phlebotomy specimens according to established procedures. This includes processing and packaging specimens for transport, maintaining required records and documentation, and adhering to departmental policies and procedures such as the Procedure Manuals, Safety Manual, Compliance Manual, Automobile policies and procedures, Employee Handbook, and Quality Assurance Manual. The position also requires maintaining collection logs, performing clerical duties like filing and maintaining customer logs, and data entry. Accurate submission of expense forms, if applicable, is also a responsibility. The role emphasizes organizational commitment, adherence to grooming and dress code policies, and punctuality. Effective communication is key, including answering the telephone professionally, communicating appropriately with clients, customers, coworkers, and the public, and maintaining confidentiality. Immediate reporting of unresolved problems to management is required. The phlebotomist must remain polite and courteous at all times. Additional duties include maintaining a neat and clean work area, disposing of biohazard containers, assisting with inventories and other assigned tasks, stocking supplies, performing clerical duties, answering phones, dispatching calls, and participating in teams and special projects as requested. Other duties as assigned may also be part of the role.

Requirements

  • Ensures all urine and oral fluid specimens and phlebotomy specimens are collected accurately and on time.
  • Collects specimens according to established procedures.
  • Responsible for completing requisitions accurately.
  • Process and package specimens for transport.
  • Maintains required records and documentation.
  • Reads, understands and complies with departmental policies, protocols and procedures: (i.e. Procedure Manuals, Safety Manual, Compliance Manual, Automobile policies and procedures, Employee Handbook, Quality Assurance Manual).
  • Maintains all appropriate Collection logs.
  • Clerical duties: filing, maintain customer log.
  • Data entry required.
  • Submits accurate expense forms, if applicable, on the required day.
  • Demonstrates organizational commitment.
  • Adheres to departmental and company code of grooming and dress code and lab coat policies, appearing neat and clean at all times.
  • Reports on time to work, following attendance guidelines.
  • Answers the telephone in a friendly and helpful manner, by incorporating the company name, self-identification and a helpful statement.
  • Communicates appropriately with clients, customers, coworkers and the general public.
  • Keeps information confidential per company and procedural policies.
  • Communicates all unresolved problems immediately to the appropriate Manager, Supervisor, Group Leader or Phlebotomy Services Rep. II for resolution.
  • Remains polite and courteous at all time.
  • Keeps work area neat and clean.
  • Disposes of biohazard containers when scheduled.
  • Help with inventories and other tasks as assigned.
  • Stock supplies as needed.
  • Performs department-related clerical duties when assigned.
  • Answers phones and dispatches calls when assigned.
