About The Position

This role involves traveling to Skilled Nursing Facilities and Private Residential homes to service patients. The Mobile Phlebotomist is responsible for treating all customers courteously and ensuring accurate and timely collection of urine, oral fluid, and phlebotomy specimens. This includes adhering to established collection procedures, accurately completing requisitions, and processing/packaging specimens for transport. The position also requires maintaining required records and documentation, understanding and complying with departmental policies and procedures, and keeping collection logs updated. Clerical duties such as filing, maintaining customer logs, and data entry are also part of the role. Additionally, the phlebotomist must submit accurate expense forms, adhere to grooming and dress code policies, and report to work on time. Effective communication with clients, customers, coworkers, and the public is essential, as is maintaining confidentiality. Any unresolved problems must be immediately reported to the appropriate manager or supervisor. The role also includes maintaining a neat and clean work area, disposing of biohazard containers, assisting with inventories and stocking supplies, performing clerical duties, answering phones, dispatching calls, and participating in teams and special projects as assigned.

Requirements

  • Must be able to travel to Skilled Nursing Facilities and Private Residential homes.

  • Must ensure all urine and oral fluid specimens and phlebotomy specimens are collected accurately and on time.
  • Must collect specimens according to established procedures.
  • Must be responsible for completing requisitions accurately.
  • Must be able to process and package specimens for transport.
  • Must maintain required records and documentation.
  • Must read, understand and comply with departmental policies, protocols and procedures (Procedure Manuals, Safety Manual, Compliance Manual, Automobile policies and procedures, Employee Handbook, Quality Assurance Manual).
  • Must maintain all appropriate Collection logs.
  • Must be able to perform clerical duties: filing, maintain customer log, and data entry.
  • Must submit accurate expense forms, if applicable, on the required day.
  • Must demonstrate organizational commitment.
  • Must adhere to departmental and company code of grooming and dress code and lab coat policies, appearing neat and clean at all times.
  • Must report on time to work, following attendance guidelines.
  • Must answer the telephone in a friendly and helpful manner, by incorporating the company name, self-identification and a helpful statement.
  • Must communicate appropriately with clients, customers, coworkers and the general public.
  • Must keep information confidential per company and procedural policies.
  • Must communicate all unresolved problems immediately to the appropriate Manager, Supervisor, Group Leader or Phlebotomy Services Rep. II for resolution.
  • Must remain polite and courteous at all time.
  • Must keep work area neat and clean.
  • Must dispose of biohazard containers when scheduled.
  • Must be able to help with inventories and other tasks as assigned.
  • Must be able to stock supplies as needed.
  • Must be able to perform department-related clerical duties when assigned.
