This role involves performing visual inspections and diagnosis for troubleshooting and executing general and preventative maintenance on a variety of equipment typical to quarry and production plant environments. The equipment includes, but is not limited to, dump trucks, excavators, dozers, front-end loaders, forklifts, graders, tractor & trailers, and pick-up trucks. The mechanic will work with various equipment components such as air supply and auxiliary air systems, clutches and transmissions, drive shafts, drive axle assemblies and final drives, engine systems, engine management systems, exhaust, intake and emission control systems, electrical systems (starting and charging), heating, ventilation, and air conditioning systems, hydraulic systems, steering systems, suspension systems, and tires, wheels, frames, and undercarriages. The position also requires welding, brazing, and soldering capabilities, as well as maintaining good housekeeping and performing other miscellaneous duties assigned by management.
