About The Position

Maintain company equipment in the field at customer locations or breakdown locations to support safe and efficient operation. The role includes preventive maintenance, inspections, troubleshooting, and repairs to a range of company equipment and systems. The Mobile Mechanic partners with drivers, dispatchers, leadership, and customers to address service needs, including emergency breakdowns.

Requirements

High school diploma.
Strong mechanical aptitude and troubleshooting skills.
Ability to thrive in a fast-paced environment.

Nice To Haves

Two or more years of experience as a technician or diesel technician.
Knowledge of shop equipment.

Responsibilities

Perform preventive maintenance and inspections.
Perform safety inspections in accordance with FMCSA 49 CFR 396.
Diagnose and repair minor engine issues using manufacturer-specific software systems.
Repair or replace brakes, wheel seals, suspension parts, and coupling devices.
Diagnose and repair electrical and pneumatic issues.
Repair or replace chassis, suspension, and axle components, including air bags, shocks, brakes, ABS modules, air tanks, and lines.
Repair or replace flooring, rub rails, doors, door seals, wall panels, and roof panels.
Perform general repairs to company equipment.
Maintain regular and reliable attendance.
Partner with drivers, dispatchers, and leadership to perform repairs, maintenance, inspections, and troubleshooting of service issues.
Receive and respond to road service calls to assist drivers during emergency breakdowns.
Comply with company policies and procedures and applicable laws and regulations.
Perform additional duties as assigned by leadership and the customer.
