About The Position

Maintain company equipment in the field at customer locations and breakdown locations to support safe and efficient operation. The role performs maintenance, inspections, troubleshooting, and repairs on company equipment, including during emergency roadside breakdowns. The mechanic works with drivers, dispatchers, leadership, and customers, and must comply with company policies, procedures, applicable laws, and regulations.

Requirements

High school diploma.
Strong mechanical aptitude and troubleshooting skills.
Ability to thrive in a fast-paced environment.
Knowledge of shop equipment.

Nice To Haves

Two or more years of experience as a technician or diesel technician is preferred.

Responsibilities

Perform preventative maintenance and inspections.
Perform safety inspections in accordance with FMCSA 49 CFR 396.
Diagnose and repair minor engine issues using specific manufacturer software systems.
Repair or replace brakes, wheel seals, suspension parts, and coupling devices.
Diagnose and repair electrical and pneumatic issues.
Repair or replace chassis, suspension, and axle components, including air bags, shocks, brakes, ABS modules, air tanks, and lines.
Repair or replace flooring, rub rails, doors, door seals, wall panels, and roof panels.
Perform general repairs to company equipment.
Maintain regular and reliable attendance.
Partner with drivers, dispatchers, and leadership to perform necessary repairs, maintenance, inspections, and troubleshooting of service issues.
Take in road service calls to assist drivers during emergency breakdowns.
Comply with company policies and procedures and all applicable laws and regulations.
Perform additional duties as assigned by Leadership and Customer.
