About The Position

Gateways Hospital and Mental Health Center is seeking a Food Truck Manager to oversee operations of our newly acquired food truck, which will support community outreach events, employee engagement initiatives, and special organizational functions. This role is ideal for a hands-on food service professional who enjoys cooking, customer interaction, and managing food operations independently. The Food Truck Manager will take ownership of food truck operations while also serving as a team lead within the Food Services Department, helping support kitchen operations and food safety standards. This position combines mobile food operations, culinary creativity, and community engagement within a mission-driven healthcare organization.

Requirements

  • 5+ years’ experience in food service operations, catering, restaurant management, or mobile food service
  • 1-2 yrs supervisory experience in kitchen production
  • Knowledge of food safety and sanitation regulations
  • Strong customer service and communication skills
  • Culinary training or experience as a lead cook or sous chef
  • High School Diploma, or equivalent
  • SERV Safe or equivalent food safety certification
  • Must pass Department of Justice (DOJ), Federal Bureau of Investigations (FBI), and Community Care Licensing (CCL) background clearance.
  • Valid California Driver’s license.
  • TB clearance.
  • Driving record acceptable for coverage by Gateways insurance carrier.

Responsibilities

  • Manage daily operations of the organization’s food truck.
  • Drive and transport the truck to community events, health fairs, and employee functions.
  • Set up, operate, and break down the truck at scheduled events.
  • Perform daily vehicle inspections and maintain operational checklists.
  • Ensure compliance with health, safety, and sanitation regulations.
  • Prepare and serve food during events and food truck service days.
  • Assist with menu development and special event menus.
  • Maintain food quality, presentation, and customer service standards.
  • Support kitchen operations within the Food Services Department.
  • Assist with training kitchen staff and maintaining food safety standards.
  • Monitor inventory, order supplies, and ensure kitchen compliance with county regulations.
  • Maintain records related to inventory, operations, and regulatory requirements.
  • Performs other additional tasks as directed.
