About The Position

PanCare of Florida is seeking a skilled and compassionate Floating Health Technician to join our team. In this role, you will be an essential part of delivering high-quality healthcare services across various locations, ensuring the smooth operation of patient care. You will work closely with healthcare professionals and patients to provide vital support, assist in clinical procedures, and ensure patient comfort and safety. We are seeking a dedicated and adaptable Seasonal Float Health Technician to provide essential health services across multiple school locations. This flexible, role will support school health teams in ensuring the well-being of students by assisting with health assessments, first aid, and general medical care. The ideal candidate will be responsive, proactive, and ready to step in as needed to support a variety of health needs in a school environment. Position Summary Assume responsibilities for direct nursing care of assigned patients under the supervision of a licensed nurse or physician in the patient care area. Work directly with PanCare corporate leadership to ensure positive results and success in the mobile health program.

  • Administrative: Manage and input medical records, appointment scheduling, billing, and coding.Gather patient information and update records accurately.
  • Strong problem-solving skills and adaptability to a fast-paced environment.
  • High School Graduate or GED required.
  • Must hold current CPR certification (Infant/Child/Adult/AED), as well as completion of First Aid training.
  • Fingerprint Background Check: Must pass a Level 2 fingerprint background check, including both state and federal (FBI) criminal history checks, due to the nature of working with children and vulnerable populations
  • At least 1 year of experience in a healthcare setting, such as a medical office, clinic, or hospital.
  • Knowledge of Health Practices: Understanding of basic medical procedures, first aid, and student health needs.
  • Administrative Skills: Experience with record-keeping, maintaining health documentation, and managing health-related information.
  • Office Equipment Skills: Knowledge and proficiency required to effectively operate various types of office equipment (copier, scanner, fax etc.).

Nice To Haves

  • Experience working with children or in a school setting is a plus.

Responsibilities

  • Perform student health screenings to include: Vision, Hearing, Height, Weight, Scoliosis, Lead and Hemoglobin; calculates BMI;assists in completion of the early childhood developmental screening.
  • Accurately and orderly records findings of completed health screenings
  • Administering medication as directed by the physician.
  • Administering minor first aid
  • May assist with managing communicable diseases and conditions
  • Notifying PanCare nurse, parent/guardian, and principal of acutely ill or injured students
  • Maintains timely flow of patients
  • Performing CPR/AED as needed
  • Documentation and data reporting of services provided in clinic according to established policy and procedure
  • Communicating with school health nurse, school personnel or parent/guardian as needed for care of patient
  • Greets patients and prepares them for screenings or exams.
  • Completes the mobile check-in process at service sites and community events.
  • Ensures that all patient intake paperwork is complete and accounted for.
  • Greets and communicates professionally with the site contact and staff throughout the duration at any given site.
  • Maintains tracking of patient encounters at each site.
  • Collaborates with Mobile Medical Assistant(s) to ensure accurate completion of Daily Count and End-of-Site Count forms
  • Oversees inventory and usage of supplies and equipment and informs mobile office of mobile unit needs
  • Complying with confidentiality requirements of the School District of Bay County and PanCare of Florida,Inc.
  • Ensuring that all paperwork generated in clinic will be dispersed following established policy and procedure
  • Performing other related duties as assigned; including but not limited to, those duties referenced in the Provision of Health Services task list provided by the Florida Department of Health
  • Assists with medical record data entry as needed.
