This role will be responsible for providing support to our terminals in Western Alaska.

Requirements

  • High school diploma or equivalent.
  • Requires work outside in all types of weather
  • Must be able to wear a half face respirator
  • Requires HAZWOPER certification

Nice To Haves

  • Valid B/CDL preferred
  • Knowledgeable of fuel and lube types desirable
  • Experience with maintenance and repair work on forklifts, heavy and light duty trucks and trailers, crane and diagnostic software preferable

Responsibilities

  • Take direction from Journeyman mechanic and/or Foreman
  • Maintain and repair diesel and gasoline powered vehicles, equipment and pumps
  • Maintain and repair basic hydraulic, air, electrical and fuel systems
  • Ability to read electric or hydraulic diagrams
  • Assist with cargo tank testing procedures
  • Hold or acquire air brake certification
  • Hold or acquire confined space entry person certificate
  • Hold or acquire competent person certificate
  • Ability to diagnose and work with electronic metering devices
  • Assist and become certified for Annual Vehicle Inspections (49 CFR 396.19)
  • Basic welding ability
  • Repair tires on trucks, trailers and forklifts
  • Responsible for electronically completing and entering repair orders
  • Must complete work orders, inspection paperwork, and parts requests per company policy & procedures
  • Responsible for mechanics shop housekeeping and tool accountability
  • Be able to work overtime and travel to remote locations as assigned
  • Follow all Company Policies and Procedures
  • Other duties as assigned by supervisor
