About The Position

Fleet Mobile Maintenance (FMM) is the fastest growing fleet maintenance network in the country, utilizing cutting-edge technology to reduce administrative time for technicians. They are a locally run, family-oriented company serving the community and seeking talented technicians. FMM offers mobile preventative maintenance, mechanical repair, tire replacement and repair, and trailer repair and maintenance services in various markets in the Southeast corridor of Michigan, as well as technicians serving customers in Indianapolis, Cleveland, Louisville, and Nashville. The company emphasizes following DOT standards and prioritizing customer needs, offering on-site service to minimize downtime. Epika, the parent company, is a network of mobile and in-shop preventative maintenance service centers focused on commercial fleets nationwide, built by partnering with top providers and investing in them, with a partnership with private equity firm Ares.

Requirements

  • 5+ years of verified experience of Commercial Tractor and Trailer repair experience.
  • Valid Driver’s License with acceptable driving record.
  • Ability to lift 100+ pounds.
  • Basic Computer Skills to submit repairs for billing.
  • Follow oral and written instructions to complete daily tasks.
  • Basic reading and writing skills to complete customer repair orders.

Nice To Haves

  • Experience with welding, certification a plus.
  • High School Diploma or equivalent, Technical school degree, a plus.
  • Class A CDL.

Responsibilities

  • Troubleshoot, diagnose, and repair customers' Commercial Tractors and Trailers.
  • Write detailed work orders, performing Mobile Road Calls and/or In Yard work.
  • Provide quality customer service.
  • Inspect, troubleshoot, and repair semi-truck and trailer bodies, systems, and components.
  • Perform preventative maintenance measures on fleet semi-trucks and trailers.
  • Maintain hubs and axles and adjust or replace them when required.
  • Inspect, service, and replace tractor and trailer parts, including tires.
  • Check and repair the brake, electrical, and hydraulic systems.
  • Test all systems and equipment for performance issues.
  • Ensure that trailers meet the U.S. Department of Transportation's road safety requirements.
  • Compile inspection reports, document repairs, and report all findings to management.
  • Respond as soon as possible to client queries.
