Mobile Equipment Trainer and Working at Heights Instructor
About The Position
Worksite Safety Compliance Centre is seeking a knowledgeable and experienced health and safety professional to join their team of instructors. This role involves delivering CPO-approved Working at Heights training and potentially training on mobile elevated work platforms. The position can be full-time or part-time and will deliver classes at training centers in Waterloo and Cambridge, Ontario, with occasional travel to other locations in the area. The ideal candidate is passionate about construction or industrial safety training and keeping workers safe, and enjoys a role with both independence and team support.
Requirements
- 3+ years experience delivering training (Working at Heights and MEWP preferred)
- Background in construction management and/or other fall hazard-related industry
- Strong interest educating people on the importance and value of health & safety training
- Self-starter who is able to work independently, while also contributing to a team
- Strong presentation and adult-engagement skills
- Valid Ontario’s Driver Licence - occasional travel by car for work
- Able to legally work in Canada
Nice To Haves
- Forklift, mobile elevated work platforms and any other mobile equipment experience considered an asset
- Work experience or certification in occupational health & safety preferred
Responsibilities
- Delivering engaging and informative Working at Heights training to job seekers, the general public and new and current members of the construction industry
- Evaluating participants through practical skills and written evaluation
- Organizing, filing and submitting digital and hard copy participant records following training
- Potentially delivering other courses, such as Mobile Elevated Work Platform (MEWP) Training
- Participating in team meetings and instructor development workshops
