About The Position

Worksite Safety Compliance Centre is seeking a knowledgeable and experienced health and safety professional to join their team as a Mobile Equipment Safety Trainer. This role involves delivering training on mobile equipment safety, specifically boom lifts and scissor lifts, at their new Training Centre in Richmond Hill, Ontario, with occasional travel to other locations in the area. There is also an opportunity to deliver the CPO-approved Working at Heights Program. This position can be either full-time or part-time, depending on candidate availability. The ideal candidate is passionate about construction or industrial safety training and is motivated to make a difference in workers' lives.

Requirements

  • 3+ years experience delivering training (MEWP preferred, forklift, Working at Heights and others may be considered an asset)
  • Forklift, mobile elevated work platforms and any other mobile equipment operating experience
  • Background in construction management and/or material handling industry
  • Work experience or certification in occupational health & safety preferred
  • Strong interest educating people on the importance and value of health & safety training
  • Self-starter who is able to work independently, while also contributing to a team
  • Strong presentation and adult-engagement skills
  • Valid Ontario’s Driver Licence - occasional travel by car for work
  • Able to legally work in Canada

Responsibilities

  • Delivering engaging and informative mobile equipment training to workers and job seekers
  • Evaluating participants through practical skills and written evaluation
  • Organizing, filing and submitting digital and hard copy participant records following training
  • Potentially delivering other courses, including Working at Heights training
  • Participating in team meetings and instructor development workshops
