About The Position

Betterment is seeking a Mobile Engineer to build and maintain consumer-facing mobile experiences that support customers throughout their financial journeys. The role focuses on shaping first impressions for new customers and owning medium-sized features from design through implementation and release. Mobile Engineers work closely with full-stack engineers, UX designers, product managers, and project leads to deliver intuitive, high-quality applications that are performant, secure, and accessible. The position is based at Betterment’s NYC office. The company describes its NY-based positions as hybrid, with four days per week in the office and no required office days during summer and winter holidays. The NYC base salary range is $140,000–$160,000, and the position may also be eligible for a company incentive bonus. The engineer will contribute to a collaborative, iterative engineering environment, help improve the mobile platform and developer experience, support teammates through code review and mentoring, and use logs, traces, and metrics to diagnose and resolve issues. The role also calls for hands-on production use of AI coding tools with sound judgment about when and how to use them.
