About The Position

Amerit Fleet Solutions, a leading fleet maintenance company, is seeking a skilled Mobile Diesel Mechanic/Technician in Pooler, Georgia. This role supports four shops and focuses on Heavy-Duty Trailers & Yard Switchers or Jockeys. The ideal candidate will be an expert in Cummins Diagnostic & Electrical Repair for small Diesel Engines and Trailers with Air Brakes, with proficiency in diesel engine and aftertreatment diagnostics, advanced electrical troubleshooting, and ABS systems. Hands-on trailer repair skills for doors, panels, roofs, air valves, and lines are also required. The position demands the ability to travel, work independently, and deliver high-quality repairs. The shift is Tuesday-Saturday, 6:00 AM - 2:00 PM. Pay ranges from $30-$35 per hour, with weekly pay and an annual SRT Bonus Opportunity of up to $15,000.

Requirements

  • At least 3 years of experience performing yard goat or switcher and trailer maintenance
  • Must be able to enter and exit the driver's compartment of the truck and/or behind the cab using normally available footholds and handholds
  • Must provide own hand tools
  • Perform DOT inspections
  • Ability to follow instructions and complete required training
  • Basic computer skills
  • Basic written and verbal communication skills (documentation, communication with peers, supervisors, etc.)
  • Expertise in Cummins Diagnostic & Electrical Repair for small Diesel Engines and Trailers with Air Brakes
  • Expertise in diesel engine and aftertreatment diagnostics
  • Expertise in advanced electrical troubleshooting
  • Expertise in ABS systems
  • Hands-on trailer repair skills, including doors, panels, roofs, air valves, and lines

Responsibilities

  • Prepare vehicle records and report both manually and on a computer
  • Perform safety inspections of equipment and prepare the safety documentation required
  • Inspect and perform work on the underparts of vehicles
  • Access any area of the equipment or vehicle to perform necessary maintenance
  • Move parts to and from the job site and remove or install these parts on the vehicle
  • Comply with all applicable laws/regulations, as well as company policies/procedures
  • Non-travel weeks will be spent building Mobile Service Center trucks and completing other projects
  • Working closely with Fleet Managers and Senior Fleet Managers
  • Perform other duties as required
